BECAUSE A LOT OF THE PEOPLE WHO ARE AGAINST THE BLACK LIVES MATTER MOVEMENT ARE HUGE FOOTBALL FANS AND I DO PERSONALLY FEEL THAT THE FOOTBALL TEAMS HAVE THE POWER TO SWAY OR NUDGE THEIR FANS/SUPPORTERS INTO BECOMING MORE EDUCATED ON THE SUBJECT OF SYSTEMIC RACISM. I am writing to you as a concerned member of the UK public who has been watching online as the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement unfolds around the globe and I have a request. I find it very important that as many people as possible speak up about the movement, the reason for this is because when change is needed, the more people advocating for it, the better and more impactful the movement! Please would you consider making a statement and posting about the movement in order to encourage your fans and supporters to:

Be accepting of black people and other members of the BAME community
To do some research of their own and find out what they can be doing in their life in order to contribute less to systemic racism which exists all over the globe
To do some research in order to find out what struggles immigrants and people of different races face within the UK
Make it known that you as a team/club do not accept or condone racism

Overall, to give your fans and supporters a nudge to take interest in the movement and to support it as well. Part of the reason I find it important for this to be discussed within the football industry is because a lot of those who are opposed to the BLM movement are actually huge football fans themselves and I do believe that football teams have the power to spark a level of interest. As well as this, it is well known that racism is a big issue within the football industry itself, although it may be better in recent days.
